write up of the Music Support brainstorm - proposed and facilitated by Sharon
Transition Nottingham Music Support Network - a network of willing community musicians and bands who would help be willing to be part of the entertainment at Transition events throughout Nottingham. And be part of the Transition Nottingham Unleashing! (we need a year to get this together so April/May 2010 would be good!)

We felt that it was essential to make transition fun to get new people in and make it accessible for the masses.

It was felt by the group that there must be plenty of willing bands, musos and community music facilitators to support all the Transition events that needed/wanted music at their Transition events. Between our little group we could name several that would probably be willing to be part of this music support network.

We talked of climate camp and the music, humour, creativity side of it, thats why so many people went to it – it was fun!

Bronwyn talked of localising community musicing - making music together as a great social networking and fun and healing thing – in Sherwood transition they have music in the breaks to uplift the events – also food drink laughter etc

Bronwyn talked of the community music groups she runs in Beeston – 'sing for fun' (weds mornings) where she gets 40 people turn up to sing together – and the sherwood 'sing for fun' where 69 people come together to sing! - (Sherwood is on mon evenings 7.30 – 9pm at the united reform church). She is also leader of the Clarion Choir – who may be up for attending some transition events possibly.
