What Next? – suggestions from Open Space and discussions on 25th April 2009

Energy Festival/energy numeracy
Clare is looking to get a group together to organize and energy event in the summer.
This needs to include early steps to improve our energy numeracy ie knowledge about how much energy is saved by certain actions and changes, so that savings can be optimized.

Transition Nottingham Birthday Party: a celebration of our success
Date in July has been suggested
Outdoor venue in a park
Food, entertainment, drama, activities for all ages
Playback theatre: This is a WONDERFUL community -building   theatre form where members of the audience are invited to share experiences. e.g. of the first year of Transition Nottingham and the players bring this immediately to life, totally improvised.  Jeannie is keen to organize a performance for the Ist Birthday party. No need to have acting experience, anyone interested  will need to met  once or twice beforehand. Contact Jeannie via info@transitionnottingham.org.uk

Should we have a Great Unleashing?
Are all the local groups doing their own thing?

More Open Space to discuss: ‘How do we take Transition Nottingham forward in the future?’
A group will meet together to organize this in the next 6 weeks if possible.
Jet will get availability and email addresses.

Skill share: a group to form to share skills in forming successful skills and relationships.
Would also provide support for new groups in formation, as well as existing groups.
Jeannie is keen on this

‘All age transition’
Consider how we can make events more child friendly.

Transition ‘fun group’
Bringing fun and entertainment to transition activities including community music, drama etc
Jeannie very keen on Playback Theatre (see above)
First opportunity in Beeston on Saturday 13th June – musicians needed,

Re-evaluate the role of the hub and relationship with local groups
An Open Space event or World café to discuss this was suggested.
There was great energy and enthusiasm at this event, and it was suggested that it is meetings such as this which are the real driving force behind transition.

To be discussed at next hub meeting and a possible topic for a similar gathering in the near future.
