Colin Tudge will be in Nottingham on Monday night (June 15th) at the Muse Bar, opposite the Broadway cinema, talking on his new idea for a "Campaign for Real Farming".

This is how he describes his theme:-
“Everyone who is ever liable to be born on to this planet could be fed to the highest standards of nutrition and gastronomy. We need only to design farming expressly for this purpose – what has been called Enlightened Agriculture. But governments, big industry, and the most powerful banks are committed to agriculture that is intended primarily to maximize profit. So if we – humanity at large – are seriously concerned about our own and our children’s future we must take matters into our own hands. This is the thinking behind the new Campaign for Real Farming – “A people’s takeover of the world’s food supply”. The role of science is crucial. It could and should be used to make Enlightened Agriculture happen. But as things stand it has been bought out by the powers that be and is not on humanity’s side.”

The talk is part of the Nottingham Cafe Sci programme. Cafe Sci talks start at 8pm prompt with a 20 minute intro from the speaker, then a brief break, then an hour of more of questions to the speaker.
