The idea of planting fruit trees in the area for the community has been mooted.
Suggestions so far for sites have been schools (many infant/junior schools have started veg
gardens),
Hedley Park, and the Forest (perhaps likely to be vandalised). Quite a few
people suggested their own gardens. It would be good to take over the waste ground opposite the
health centre on Nottingham Road - who owns it?

Also, the idea of planting cider trees at the Lion pub was suggested.  Maybe we should make a list of all the possible sites where we would like to see trees planted in the area?

Hi,

We've set up a blog online so you can leave suggested sites for planting trees around Forest Fields, Hyson Green and Sherwood Rise. There is a map on the site where all suggestions will be marked. You can find it at:

www.fruitandnotts.weebly.com

Physical maps of the area with pins will be going up soon in the Partnership Council, Sumac centre, Hyson Green library and other key areas so you can also leave suggestions there.
